I get that, but the statement in the response simply says, "... ensures that prohibited persons may not acquire a handgun.", and it does not qualify it with "through a legal process". Perhaps that is implied, but it reads poorly to me. The 77R doesn't ensure anything other than ensuring it...
I didn't like the last paragraph on page 3:
It makes it sound as if such a process can actually do such a thing. It was probably just a quote from the petitioners argument, but restating it seems to lend that notion credibility.
If it were to be heard En Banc, and they reversed the 3 judge panel to uphold the HQL law, that would seem to create a circuit split between the 4th circuit (HQL constitutional) and the 5th circuit (FOID unconstitutional). That's an open invitation for SCOTUS to do some whoop ass on the whole...

You shouldn't. A convention of the states is only for the purpose of proposing amendments (instead of them being proposed via Congress). It's not a constitutional convention, which is used to draft a new one. (more here https://conventionofstates.com/ if you're interested)
Wow. That's all they got? Courts regardless of intent have abused the commerce and equal protection clauses to destroy our freedoms and justify government tyranny for far too long. Someday it would be great to see these abuses corrected once and for all. An Article V convention of the states...
The GCQ '68 doesn't see Joe Home Hobbyist and Jack Self Defense as manufacturers just because they have the skill and use it to make their own tools. In fact, it reinforces the status quo that Joe and Jack can do what they do in the manner in which they are accustomed as long as they don't do...
