Well there is a story...and it starts with my Grandfather being in the Army-Airforce in WWII. He brought it back from Europe with lots of other goodies. It was givin to my father back in the 60's when he graduated from Military School. My Dad would take it out and clean it every once in a while...
I want to go, I'm looking to sell my fathers 98k 8mm 1939 Mauser and some rifle reloading dies that he had. Do I need to have a permit for selling this rifle outright @ a gun show or is it like it used to be. I can hang a "For Sale" sign on it and walk around ?
For those of you who havent tried Glasbedding your action on your favorite rifle, I highly recomend giving it a try. The accuracy on my Smith & Wesson 30-06 has improved so much, it's like shooting a new gun. I was shooting 1/4 to 1/2 groups @ 100yrds with my favorite hand loads. Now I'm getting...
The Federal ammo is made with the 17 grain V-max bullet, but theres got to be something different inside that makes it shoot a little tighter group. I'm thinking its maybe a little less powder or maybe a different powder all together. Anyways I'm stickin with the one that shoots most consistant :-)~
Ever since I got my Savage .17HMR I have been having alot of fun with it. One of the things that I noticed was how much my gun likes the 17gr Federal ammo as opposed to the other brands. Now look CCI makes all the ammo for the .17HMR for all the different Ammo Companies like Remington, Hornady...
I just finished fitting my New Green Mountain "Runing Boar Barrel" to my 10 22 Carbine. I realy like the lines on this rifle now...kinda looks sexy too lol...I have'nt shot it yet but tomorrow is looking good for some plinking.
After reviewing all input and researching, I've decided to go with the "Kimber Kit". Everybody gave this kit a 4 or 5 star rating, and @ $309.00 from Midway it's a no brainer. I want to thank all of you who had some positive input to share here.
If you dont mind me asking....What 1911 do you have that you put your Kimber on ? So you got yours through MIDWAY ? Good I have an account with them....Do you find it easy to convert it back to shoot .45acp ?
Ahhhh... I have a Colt 1991 A1 1911, I believe it's the model Colt submitted to the US Gov in competition with Barretta but did'nt get the contract. So that being said I'm assuming again it would be "Mil Spec" ???
I have searched all the threads concerning this topic, but have'nt found the awsers Im looking for. I'm going to by one of these kits for my 1991 A1. What I need is some of you out there may have 1 or more of these kits and can give me your input on witch one to purchase. I have singled it down...
Location ? Location ? Location ?
Ok I would love to get involved in this match.....Where is it ? When is it ? and What do I need to be shooting to be competitive. I have a 1991 A1 45 acp and I have a Raging Bull 44mag w/6 inch brl. Please advise.
There was a Marlin 917 SS just like your gun in the picture, the price was $399.99. I held it and it felt good but I was'nt ready to spend 4 Benjamins for such a small caliber. I might put a custom stock on mine later, but for now I'm enjoying what I have. By the way thats a nice looking rifle.
Field tested !!!
Well it was'nt long ago I talked about getting my Savage 93.17 HMR. I took it to the range and she performed great with 1/4 groups @ 100 yds using Hornady 17gr V-max bullets. I tried all the ammo CCI, Remington,Winchester, Federal and Hornady. My gun does not like the 20gr...
I just purchased a New Savage in 17HMR. I lucked out and got it on sale @ Dick's. I got tired of hearing how much fun everybody else was having shooting these fast and accurate little rifles. Can't wait to shoot it @ the range tomorrow. If it's what everybody says it is, Groundhog hunting should...
I'm intrested in doing some shooting with you guys. I have never attended a "Bug Match" and would like to know the rules and give it a try. I have 2 large caliber hand guns and 2 small.
My first gun was a 12ga Sears and Roebuck Single shot, my dad bought it for when I turned 16. It had a 28' full choke barrel and oak stock, I remember the first time hunting with it shooting dove. Boy those were the good ole days.
