I have a rifle and a pistol for when I'm at home. I was thinking of getting a huge sword or axe for slaying large animals that try to break in.

Outside of my home, all I have is some hand-to-hand training....almost useless against firearms unless you're Chuck Norris.

On a serious note, I strongly urge for everyone to learn how to defend themselves without any weapons.

got to get by the dogs first.... a 120lb rotty Chance (he's the teeth) and my good ole beagel buddy (he's the ears and eyes)...now if anything gets close to the house (anything or anyone) buddy let's chance know hit a bay and a howl and everyone inside is on full alert....
in the house my cougar 8000 9mm 15 rounds +1 is always on me (in pants holster), I also have a mossberg 590 in 12 gauge equiped w/ led flashlight and red dot laser sight that I would make a b line for if anyone should be foolish enough to invade my family's home, if I'm not home but the wifey is I have a stoeger stagecoach short double barrel in 12 gauge 00 buck loaded w/ 5 more shells on a sleeve carrier on the stock also has a huge recoil pad on it too (hey it's for the wifey) I've trained w/ her with it and she gotten pretty good at bringing it up and on target quickly fireing and reloading for the shell carrier on the stock

we drill twice a month every month 5th and 25th on what to do incase of civil unrest, a breakin, a armed robbery, a fire, or all out war

    it pays to be ready

well funny you should ask... the sign on the diverways 30 yards into my property says 'if you can read this you are in range'... that in combination with the wind socks with respective yardage values seem to deter everyone

One eyed labrador, rotweiler, australian shepard mix will get you high while 25 lbs of fighting sheltie fury will get you low.
