This thread should be called “watch my kids grow up.” Love your waterfowl input every season and jealous but happy for you. Weather a little too ducky for us last weekend and this weekend is muzzle loader.

It was odd last weekend and this one. The rain for us last Saturday kept the wood ducks under the tree overhangs and not moving. Today the flew out of the roost and sat somewhere instead of moving around. It was enough last weekend for my first ever Woodie band, skunked today and yesterday. The two of us still had fun both weekends

Nice, Metalman. All the woodies must be by you. I hit a spot today that was productive for them last year, but only saw one. Ended up with a black, a mallard, and a mer though

Me and my son had a good day yesterday, still just woodies, had a few mallards around but they did not want to commit. Nobody else wanted to go. They have wised up and did not want to land in our decoys and wanted to land in the open part of the pond. I should have brought my mojos.

Happy Thanksgiving, Good day today, better than Saturday. We finally got some mallards in. We were wondering if the woodies were still here and they were. The mojos definitely seemed to help.

I gave my son his first goose today. He didn't know I got it stuffed( I told him we ate it:) My guy was backed up and it took him 2 years. We hid it over my inlaws

All the woodies I've been expecting to see must be down by you. We managed a pair of elusive hooded mergansers on Friday. At least the dog had fun

3rd split is here? Who's out and had luck? I saw thousands of birds on Friday but none wanted to cooperate

Red heads didn't fly. We had one red head come in while I put the boat up and no one shot it. Had about 50 swing by while I was picking up the decoys. We did get a few buffle heads

I shot 3 bufflehead about 15 years ago. I think they were the worst thing I ever tasted. I vow to never shoot another unless someone else wants them. Do you eat them? How do you prepare them? I just used salt and pepper and pan fried the breast.
