I would think not because a barrel with a Wylde chamber can be made in any profile. A “Wylde barrel” actually refers to a chamber specification, not a barrel contour. It’s usually coupled with a 1:8” twist and makes for a very accurate barrel if reasonably stiff, at least it’s my favorite set up.
Disclaimer: not an expert on MD laws (thank goodness!)

The barrel has to be stamped, or marketed as a heavy profile barrel.

I think the confusion might come from that non 223/5.56 AR15s aren’t considered as banned (still subject to the copy cat provisions).

any idea how many have been busted or jailed for not having "heavy" barrels on their AR's? one would had to have been very, very, very, very bad for some state or fed LEO to pull your gun apart looking for any sort of hbar designation.

It’s not a look or a measurement. It’s simply an imaginary idea that is only a reality if it’s stamped or advertised as such.

    Yep. Look at this HBAR.

It’s the barrel equivalent of trans gender. It may not look like a heavy barrel but it feels like one thus it’s legit

Do these not look like heavy barrels https://www.rockriverarms.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=category.display&category_ID=262

They do list a 20-inch as a heavy barrel but no 16 inchers and the profile looks the same
Doesn't matter. With Rock Rivers, needs to have the word heavy in the barrel description.

A few years back I purchased a RRA 16” carbine length heavy barrel (just barrel assm) directly from RRA. Carbine length gas system, military fsb, barrel nut, and 5.56 chamber. Shoots great. It was marketed but not marked as hbar.

Wylde chambers are mostly found on match or target intended barrels. If OP is still interested, call RRA, they will probably make a 16”, heavy, Wylde chambered barrel for you.

    "Fight Club" fellas,, Fight Club............
Dang, fella, did you forget what forum you’re logged into? This is MDS, that’s ALL they do is “talk about Fight Club”, it’s hardwired into 98% of the forum members psyche!

    Half the thread titles in a nutshell;
“Full auto 10/22, been like that for a year, should I take to gunsmith?”
“CCW Instructor let us out of class an hour early, yay!”
“Let’s say I (or a friend), accidentally killed somebody, how would you go about…”
“Accidentally shortened my 870 barrel to 17”, how can I…?”
“I have a tini-tiny problem with heroin, will that affect my carry permit application?”

It’s like they exist solely to “Talk about Fight Club”

It started 25+ years ago when I saw for the first time a video camera at a bachelor party. It was the sign on the wall that people are their own worse enemy.
