Wife and I decided to get a camping trip in this coming weekend before it gets too cold.

Anyone have a lead on a decent campground for "car camping"?

    Help!

Sorry, we called it car camping in Florida.

Car camping is where you park your car at the site, use tents, etc... Essentially, not hiking to your site. Typically there is a bathroom and showers.

The only one I personally know with bathroom and showers is rocky gap

Tks. Im new to camping/rving, just trying to learn terms

Well, don't take what we crazy floridians call things for fact. We kind of make shit up as we go.

Car camping is really just a way to describe not hiking in to the site. Plus, you can keep the coolers in the car so wildlife leaves it alone.

The biggest problem with most of the RV campgrounds is that every weekend in October are "special event" weekends. Meaning Halloween weekends. Most are booked up. We go to Yogi Bear in Hagerstown. Nice campground, plenty for kids to do, nice showers/bathrooms for what they call "primitive camping" IE tents that don't require power as opposed to RV's that need some kind of hookups. Good luck and have fun!!
