here I thought you could drill the port before pinning the gas block.

Glad I didn't try putting a kit on one of my receivers already

if it's a 74 you actually do it that way. well, first you install the gas block, drill for the retaining pins, then remove the block, measure location of port relative to the pins, and then locate/drill on the barrel.

Don't know AKbuilder's shipping charge but McMaster is good for this type of stuff. Ship will prob be ~$5 for a couple small items and you'd have 'em next day as they ship most things from NJ.

ak gas port bit is just a hair over 3.25 mm in diameter. i certainly know people neurotic enough to try and sharpen one that small.....but i'm not one of them.
