For what it's worth there's an upcoming auction in PA, halfway between Harrisburg and State College where there are a dozen S&W 41s for sale. I've never seen an auction with so many listed. I expect prices will be well below market. I've never dealt with the auction house so a call would be in order to verify details about transfer and terms. Photos aren't fantastic so I'd make the trip to inspect lots in person but you could also ask if a phone or absentee bid could be arranged along with shipping to your FFL (or if a no-dash then it will be over 50 yrs old and C&R). Longs Auction Service and the auction is being held in Port Royal PA on the 29th.
