"When a child under the age of 18 commits a crime, the child is generally referred to the State juvenile justice system. Unlike the adult criminal justice system, which can be punitive in nature, the juvenile justice system’s goal is to focus on the child’s needs by providing support and rehabilitative services. Ideally, this approach helps positively reintegrate the child into society and reduces or even eliminates recidivism."

20 pages later and I did not see any documentation as to the recidivism rate for younger offenders.

    Lies.

They just need more funding. If they had more funding they could solve the problem that insufficient funding is clearly causing.

Juvenile crime beginning to surge after COVID to pre COVID levels. Child abuse is down 67%. Carjacking levels up over 200%.

I wonder if there is a correlation there.

How are the prosecution/conviction numbers. I'll go with inversely correlated Alex for $1000.

We’ve got sociopathic juvenile criminals that are 12 (bomb threat kid) going on 24 in addition to those who are 13 going on 30. They are well aware that they’re taking advantage of the decency of the system.

It’s time for the system to be punitive.

LOL, sounds just like the Democrats answer for schools.......and everything else. Of course, nothing ever improves because of their ideas

First two sentences are just the basic definition of the Juvenile Justice system , in general . Statement of fact .

The third sentence is a wish and a hope .

The facts keep pissing in their ideals.

Looks like Montgomery County has a new solution. Now the victims get victimized twice with “Community Confrencing”

‘This is a crisis’: Montgomery Co. panel explores juvenile crime, possible actions
    FEAR NOT!

"Mink said a victim need not appear in the community conferencing program, although she said that’s how it “works best.” But, she added, “a group from the community” can serve as a proxy for the victim “and engage in the conversation with the person who committed the harm.”
