That was supposed to be our secret!Einstein enjoys when I fondle him.....
Rimfire SBR's don't have a minimum length requirement.
IIRC when you put a >16" upper on a SBR lower, the lower will temporarily lose NFA status, as long as it can not be really converted back to the SBR. So if you put a standard upper on it, make sure the short upper is going to be left at home.So now the lower is a registered SBR as a rimfire caliber? Does that mean he can’t switch the upper out to a full length upper or change the caliber to a center fire?

Recently helped a friend put this together (Friend purchased the lower on his own).
Budget minded SPR inspired build. Barrel is an 18 inch rifle gas Criterion HBAR.
Scope is a cheapy Primary Arms SLx 4-14x44 FFP - surprisingly nice for what it is.
Bare rifle was just a hair over $1000 all in before taxes.
Edit: before someone comments - no hand drills/ drill bits were used in the assembly of this rifle
As a general rule; an SBR is and SBR until it isn't. You can reconfigure an SBR into a non-SBR at any time. You can even return it to its SBR status at any time. If you want to permanently change the status of an SBR to a standard firearm, I believe the ATF want's to be notified(this also includes permanent changes to barrel length and or caliber even if it remains an SBR).So now the lower is a registered SBR as a rimfire caliber? Nice one. What kind of bipod is that? Looks stout.
Show us the whole upper bruh
