    Listen guys.

This is not Tacti-cool. This is functional. I have a Remington 870 that I hated to fire. I did not want to ruin the wood furniture on it as it was beautiful.

I replaced the stock and foregrip with this:

    Knoxx Recoil Reducing Stock

I can not BELIEVE the difference this made. It's basically a mechanical shock absorber. Everyone who owns a 12 gauge ought to buy one of these. It has reduced down to something similar to a 308.

The important thing is: now it's FUN to shoot.

I tried a friend's 870 with the Knoxx recoil reducing stock and it kept smacking the sh*t out my cheek. Not a fan. I definitely prefer shooting with the original stock. However, I did purchase a limbsaver recoil reducing pad and it has greatly reduced felt recoil.

A older Mark 5 Weatherby 300WM from the bench.
At Marroittsville range.Got a very nice deep scope cut.
Taken to Balto County General on Old Court Rd.
Took 17 stiches, that's inside and out.
Had a real interesting headache next day.
Still have the scar to prove it happened.
Not one of my better days.

H&R Buffalo Classic, 45-70 with 32 inch barrel and steel butt plate Ran 14-15 rounds through it at DSC. A real shoulder thumper! My son has a Marlin 45-70 carbine. He says the H&R has a whole lot more felt recoil than his Marlin.

My shoulder has never been bruised by pulling the trigger. Yes I've shot some High caliber stuff. I think its how you hold it it the shoulder. You have to hold it very tight to just the right spot. I also think it has to do if you bruis easily or not. Some people are very hard to bruis.

    A visible bruise? Never...

A sore shoulder the next day? My Mosin 91/30 and my M1 Garand (after 2+ bandoleers of ammo), and the first time I tried skeet shooting w/a shotgun some 29 years ago...

    My H&R Topper single barrel 12ga with a 3" 00 Buckshot round.

I went from comfortable shooter to dumbass with one pull of the trigger.

I probably looked like one of those idiots in those "Hey, watch this!" Youtube videos.

Had an issue with the cheapie Walmart shells sticking in the gun...wanted to try brass to see if it expanded like the cheap shells. The only ones I had with brass were the buck.

    BOOM!

In my younger days my cousin and I both shot my uncle's 12 gauge double barrel while pulling both triggers simultaneously. There was no recoil pad, and it bruised the butt plate's basket-weave design into my shoulder.
