Both 4895's, IMR4064 and Varget are excellent powders for your 308. I'll throw one more into the mix for your consideration - RL15 42.0gr and your 168 Sierra. With this load I've shot some eye popping small groups out to 300 yds during good conditions. My Savage has a very short throat and OAL...
I used one for years putting together rounds off the tail gate of my truck. I had a 22-250 in the truck that I Ground Hog hunted with. I kept a shoe box behind the seat with the loader, mallet, bullets, powder in it. Primers were in the glove box. A small plastic "Tupper Ware" air tight tub held...
Range trip today:
- 10 rounds built with the C.E. Harris "load" (16 gr 2400) behind 175 gr cast - sized and g/c'd. Very mild, but also very sooty cases and a little blowback. Not enough pressure to seal the chamber IMHO.
Mine likes her cast bullets to be several thou. over bore size. These...
Don't forget Thunderstick in Fawn Grove. They have some reloading supplies and are expanding in that area. Ammo also available for those that don't reload. Prices are reasonable. They sell a lot of guns from collections and estate sales that are new or near new and in perfect condition for an...

The only thing on AR-15's that is regulated are the lower receivers. Everything else can be purchased separately w/o any paperwork. All Colt HBAR's are marked "HBAR" on the magazine well. I'm not certain but I believe another identifying characteristic of a cash and carry HBAR is an A-2 stock...

A good friend uses either IMR 4831 or H4831 with all bullet weights. He says he's tried IMR 7828 as well but got better grouping results with both 4831's. He tends to shoot the heavier bullets for this caliber, 100gr plus at high loading densities near or at maximum charges. Has not had any...
Sounds more likely to be a sizing die issue. I've fired many thousands of both Berry and Raineer 180's with 8.0 Blue Dot and an RCBS sizing die. No push back problems at any time. Good Luck.
Has anybody used 300-MP in 357 heavy bullet loads. I'm thinking specifically 158 gr or heavier, either jacketed or cast w/gas check ? The Alliant loading guide shows a very substantial velocity increase over 2400. Wondering if that has been substantiated via anybody's chronograph. Also looking...
