I ordered a part for a Remington 700 off gunbroker, the item shipped from Louisianna, made it to memphis, and was scheduled for delivery, but then got re-routed to Mississippi.

Mags were plentiful and reasonably priced - considering the times, I bought a few 10 rounders :). Ammo was/is so expensive I never gave it a serious look.

You can check with DNR police to be sure ,but since its MD, all MD laws apply. Therefore no open carry and ccw by permit only.

Be careful on the barrel cut. Doing so can make the gas system finicky. More than one person has cut one and wished they hadn't because it wont cycle right.
