People are perfectly fine with discrimination against others until they're the ones being discriminated against in such a way that it has a major impact on them. Then, and only then, do they realize the burden that discrimination imposes.

Typical liberal ***** shit. Sue, sue sue. Just find another range where you'd be welcomed. And what would you gain by suing? A right to use a range where you're not wanted or possibly put a small business person out of business.

And what if this is the only range in town? What then?

    I would sue as well.

What about private property rights? Are they gone? What about free speech right to make a statement? Even hateful ones?

Didn't our founders say they may disagree with what you say, but would fight to the death to support your right to say it? (Paraphrasing) Did they ONLY mean to give that support to the 1st?

If the government is forcing bakers to make cakes against their beliefs (and fining those that don't), will the government fine a person that REFUSES to train a suspicious group in small arms tactics?

Hmmm there is a range in my area that has a waiting list...it may take me 5 years to get into. I have to drive at least 35 mins to shoot. Should I sue because I don't want to wait 5 years to see if I am "accepted"? Maybe I'm being discriminated against because I paid a non refundable fee for a background and now have to wait 5 years instead of being "accepted". My background is good enough that the state of MD and the Federal govt has hired me. Maybe I should sue. Wrong! Their range their rules.

I didn't realize we had so many sue happy progressive liberals here. I find that interesting. I didn't think we had any "i'll get mine even if I have to sue" folks here.

"I got my feelings hurt so I am gonna sue" is about the same as " free health insurance is a right". just liberals bs.

Most of those folk come from 97% muslim countries. Not that many options for them to change things to the better there. I dont think people like persian jews who come to the US are parasites. They dont look any different from other iranians and may have farsi names yet they are most definitely not muslims or a security risk by any measure.

I have no problem with anyone from any other country who comes to the United States LEGALLY for the reason of wanting a better life for themselves and their families. What I do have a problem with is people coming from other countries because they want to escape the atrocities of their homeland only to try to turn the U.S. into what they left. If they want it how they had it, they need to go back.

That's pretty dumb. I'm likely more conservative than most here, especially considering what I do for a living. I just don't like bigotry.

A lawsuit is not for hurt feelings. It's for real damage such as being subject to illegal discrimination. No true conservative who believes in the constitution and Declaration of Independence will ever condone illegal discrimination.

The cake issue is fundamentally different in that these people don't want to participate in a gay wedding. This is refusal to participate in something that is against one's religious belief.

Morgan is saying that she won't allow Muslims in her range. This is discrimination against a class of people.

    Two different things.

And really now, is it OK if we go back to separate lunch counters and bathrooms?

I find it odd that you call a lawsuit "typical liberal ***** shit" when lawsuits are the most discussed topic on this section of the forum.

If a range banned black people because the owner said they didn't want gangbangers training how to commit crime, would that be OK? What if a range said they banned white Christians because they are likely to engage in domestic terrorism?

The point isn't really "find another range." The point is I don't want to be discriminated against because of who I am.

If a lawsuit gets DC residents the right to own handguns, it is the greatest thing since sliced bread.

If a lawsuit gave a law abiding patriotic muslim the right to shoot at that range in AL, it would be 'liberal ***** shit'.

Much like in another thread about discrimination (and paraphrasing Norton, if the range is a private business, the owner should be able to ban blacks, Christians, or anyone she wants. She shouldn't want to, but it should be her right to do so.

But the law currently and likely will never allow that, and before when it was allowed we had separate bathrooms and lunch counters and colored people like me sat at the back of the bus. Do we want to go back to that?

That said, it seems as though she operates the range as a private club and that lets her do this. If it were a public range then she would be in violation.

    Jews too ?

With a sign at the door. Star of David crossed out. How about one of those 'Stuermer'caricatures of a hook nosed jew ? Private business, right ?

Do we NOT see what is happening ?

So when the DoJ finishes 'monitoring' her range, then determines that there was a pattern of discrimination, and FINES her $100K or more, plus allows every aggrieved plaintiff to sue for the hardship and embarrassment that they suffered, what will be OUR collective response ?

Based on discussions so far, we will self-destruct.

I'll repeat my introductory post. This is OLD NEWS that died of it's own accord. Not until recently did the DoJ start 'monitoring' when a single complaint of dubious origin was reported, either by their own volition or after being prompted by CAIR.

The wedge has been inserted and leverage will be applied. Wake up people !!!

Several years ago I was with a friend of mine and we stopped at a bar that he liked to shoot a came of pool and have a beer. I had my leather motorcycle jacket on. Started our game and was told by the bartender that I couldn't have the jacket on. Ok. Took it off and had a Harley t shirt on. Bartender said you need to leave we don't want your kind in here. Ok we left. My kind was a white, 35 year old, active duty military police officer. Point is its his place, his rules. Did I sue? No. I took my money elsewhere. I worked part time at a casino and it had a sign on the door that said " We have the right to refuse service to anyone at anytime for any reason." Private property owners have rights also. Its why its called private and not public.
