The statute says nothing about conforming to the same standards as the ATF and an opinion letter is not law. I am just playing devil's advocate here but if it aint in the law,it aint the law? MSP cannot make law! I don't want to test it but in court I would think a lawyer could win a case as...
I know that the MSP web site says any barrel attatchment has to be permantly attached to reach the 29" requirement but can anyone show me where in the text of SB281 that the barrel attatchment has to be pinned and welded to meet the requirement? All it says is at least 29" OAL!
Jason that could have been me you dealt with. If people continually rack the slide on a new gun it scar's the barrel hood and when some people see that they think the gun has been used and they won't buy it. That's why you see the NightHawk's and other expensive guns strapped up with a Zip tie...

Wrong! If you look in the Maryland Guide for hunting & Trapping under General Hunting Regulations you will see that it is unlawfull to have a loaded firearm in or leaning against a vehicle including a loaded magizine. This may or maynot be pertient to this discussion but it is a Maryland law.
