      Current SKS offers

I feel that the SKS rifles are overpriced better off with a VZ-58

Took my new VZ58 to the range last night

Copes has 30 round mags for about $14 each, although I guess you have to ship them outside of MD.

Helping to stop the Bubbafication of the Mosin

Closest thing to a bubba job I did was I bought a 1944 ex-sniper I got at a show in Winchester, had all matching but all EP numbers. I also had a CAI repro sniper I bought from Lou years back. Well I used the scope and mount from the repro to resniper the 1944. I really enjoyed that project and...

      My new Mosin Nagant 91/30

Shoot it with a bayonet attached, that is how they were sighted in.

Wife got mad! I ordered one of those "discounted" Classic M39

If your wife bitches ask her what kind of return can she expect on her shoes?

Long shot.. Looking for a Finn Mosin stock...

My Tikka 9/1/30 came in a prewar Russian stock, but had been stripped then hit with the pine tar treatment, that would be easy to replicate.

Russian Mosin 91/30 Rifles w/ Matching Bayonet Hex Receivers in Stock!

Just attended a show in Beckley WV a couple of weeks back, refurbed round receivers priced at $175, both Tula and Izhevsk and not selling.

Russian Mosin 91/30 Rifles w/ Matching Bayonet Hex Receivers in Stock!

A crate full of Tula hexes means the crate was put together stateside by an importer from other crates so anything really rare has already been taken out.

Russian Mosin 91/30 Rifles w/ Matching Bayonet Hex Receivers in Stock!

At roughly $100 over retail for the sight unseen version, I don't think so. Let's face facts, these things are still being stored in containers by the hundreds for the day when the imports dried up, but a glut of them on the secondary market along with softening markets for collectables make...

      Fitting Mosin Bayonet

Some people use a tapered wooden dowel to push the bayonet base apart, that seems like the best way.

Price check on 880 crates of 7.62x54r?

I probably would pay a premium for heavy ball but not light ball.

      Mosin Porn Thread

Not really 100% correct, some of the later M44 stocks were numbered not sure if originally or at refurbishment but some are numbered, my 1948 is.

      Lesson learned

I have ended auctions on ebay early with promises of a buy only to have the buyer back out, I learned my lesson and won't do it anymore.

      It's just an old rifle!

The PT boats were made out of marine plywood and at least one of the major manufacturers (Higgins) had a real problem with rot spreading through the glue in the wood layers, I know because I had a 1947 inboard made by the same company with the same issue.

      91/30 exsniper

Real nice rifles, but rarity varies by year and maker, 1942 Tula is rarest for ex-pu, also 1942 Izhevsk is sought after, anything past that is common until you get to postwar ex-snipers, those are really rare. Anything before 1942 is also very desirable.
